ABOUT
BELINDA COOMES
Based in Melbourne, Australia, I am a music composer who specialises in writing music for video games and interactive media.
As a lifelong fan of video games, I am passionate about the role audio plays in creating an immersive gaming experience and believe the audio component of a game is essential to creating a truly engaging and memorable experience for players.
As a music composer, I am fascinated by the intersection of traditional composition techniques and sound design, and I am always seeking to blend these approaches in my compositions.
Some of my notable projects in the video game industry include Game For Peace (PUBG Mobile China) major update 2022, Ring of Pain, developed by Twice Different, and Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun Rising, a full conversion modification for the original Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. I also worked with Goblin Hammer Games studio creating SFXs for their upcoming farming game Harvest Hands.
In addition to my work in the video game industry, I have also composed for a wide range of other industries including advertising, music libraries, short films, and corporate projects.
During Melbourne International Games Week 2019, I was honored to have my work as a local games composer performed by a live 13-piece orchestra at the event ‘underSCORE’. This was a rare and exciting opportunity to showcase my compositions to a wider audience.
My love of audio also lead me to study Bachelor of Composition at Box hill Institute where I focused on orchestration and arrangement, music for film and music for games.
In combination with my background in IT and experience working in software companies I now combine my passion of audio and technology by providing audio services to the video games industry.
