BELINDA COOMES
Growing up I spent an enormous amount of time playing video games, escaping into a game’s world and getting lost in it’s beauty and complexity. Still fascinated by games today I am particularly passionate about the audio experience players receive in games.
I am fascinated with manipulating noise and sound in my music so I am always looking to blend sound design with traditional composition techniques to help express emotion.
My recent credits include Game For Peace (PUBG Mobile China) major update 2022, Ring of Pain, developed by Twice Different, and Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun Rising, a full conversion modification for the original Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Previously I worked with Goblin Hammer Games studio creating SFXs for their upcoming farming game Harvest Hands.
During Melbourne International Games Week 2019 I had the privileged of being one of the local games composers to have their work performed by a live 13-piece orchestra at the underScore event.
My love of audio also lead me to study Bachelor of Composition at Box hill Institute where I focused on orchestration and arrangement, music for film and music for games. In combination with my background in IT and experience working in software companies I now combine my passion of audio and technology by providing audio services to the video games industry.
