BELINDA COOMES
Based in Melbourne, Australia, I am a music composer who specialises in writing music for video games and interactive media.
As a gamer myself who loves action packed and dark themed games, this strongly influences my compositions and I have a particular interest in writing music in similar themes. This passion has lead me to develop a musical style that blends sound design elements with traditional composition techniques, allowing me to craft a unique sound for each game I work on.
Some of my notable projects in the video game industry include As We Descend, Ring of Pain, Winnie’s Hole, Mistmoon Falls, Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun Rising and additional tracks composed for Game For Peace (PUBG Mobile China).
In addition to my work in the video game industry, I have also composed for a wide range of other industries including advertising, music libraries, short films, and corporate projects.
A personal highlight of mine was being one of a select few local game composers to have their work performed by a live 13-piece orchestra at the event ‘underSCORE’ during Melbourne International Games Week in 2019. This was a rare and exciting opportunity to showcase my compositions from the video game Ring of Pain, as well as to promote video game music to a wider audience.
